WGLT Earns 3 Regional Murrow Awards For Reporting, Newscast

WGLT has earned three regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for its local reporting and newscasts and will advance to the prestigious National Murrow Award competition this summer.

WGLT competed against newsrooms throughout Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio, earning three regional Murrow Awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA):

RTDNA has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971. Award recipients demonstrate the spirit of excellence that Murrow set as a standard for the profession of electronic journalism.
Of the awards given to journalists, the Murrow Awards are among the most respected journalism awards in the world.

The National Murrow Award winners will be announced in June.

WGLT, at 89.1 FM, previously won National Murrow Awards in 2015, 2008, 2006, and 2005. Separately, the station has received 111 Illinois AP journalism awards since 1997.
