Study Shows Wide Disparity In Traffic Stops By Race In Bloomington-Normal
The racial disparity in traffic and pedestrian stops in Bloomington-Normal grew wider last year during the pandemic. Bloomington Police pulled over Black motorists at six times the rate of white drivers last year. Police in Normal were more than four times more likely to pull over a Black driver than a while motorist.
