Storytelling and loving to hear a story is just in our blood. That's according to a storyteller that's coming to the Bloomington Public Library.
- Emmy Award-winning storyteller Bobby Norfolk is appearing at Bloomington Public Library on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 11 a.m.
- Norfolk is a full-time storyteller with roots in stand-up comedy and theater. He tells tales from across the land, using popular themes such as Anansi Stories, African-American Experience, and Voice of Africa. He's particularly fond of stories featuring Anansi the Spider, a trickster character that is part of the collection of archetype characters we find repeatedly in stories.
- Norfolk is proud to carry on the tradition of storytelling, which dates back to ancient humans.
- He expressed concern about young people becoming addicted to handheld devices and losing the ability to concentrate.
