Heartland Community College’s Challenger Learning Center is tapping into local beermaking expertise for a unique immersive Escape Room experience this weekend.
“Brews, Booze & Bubbles: Virtual Escape Room” is an online class for adults, set for 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
For the event, teams of up to four players work together to find clues and solve interactive puzzles virtually. Participants will solve puzzles across a variety of virtual “rooms,” using clues and interactive puzzles that feature familiar faces from Bloomington breweries Keg Grove and Lil Beaver. Each room is related to the science of making beer.
“What was cool was to be able to talk to Keg Grove and Lil Beaver and see the science in action, and to see how they tweaked it, to get those really specific flavor combinations that make their beer so unique and memorable,” said Dr. Julia Ossler, associate director at the Challenger Learning Center.
“It’s always great when we can partner up with community members to bring programming like this to folks in our area.”
