Lucky Fans Will Get Brock Spack Bobblehead At Redbird Home Opener

Redbird Athletics
The Brock Spack bobblehead, on the field at Hancock Stadium.

Bloomington-Normal bobblehead collectors: You may want to be at Hancock Stadium on Saturday.

The first 6,000 fans through the gates for the Redbird football team’s 6:30 p.m. home opener against Butler have a chance to win a coach Brock Spack bobblehead. Those 6,000 fans will each receive a scratch-off ticket, with 2,000 of those winners getting the mustachioed Spack bobblehead.

The Spack bobblehead is the first for a Redbird head coach, although Redbird Athletics has commissioned three other ones in recent years, including for ISU basketball icon Doug Collins.

Spack is only the latest Bloomington-Normal celebrity to be bobbleheaded. The Normal CornBelters did a state Rep. Dan Brady bobblehand giveaway earlier this month. (Get it? Because he shakes hands?)

Saturday’s bobblehead giveaway is one part of the Redbird football team’s annual Spack Stache Bash. The free event open to all ages prior to the football game and last year's inaugural event included a parking lot party, featured a DJ and included giveaways and food samples from local sponsors.
