Fairview Aquatic Center

Normal's Fairview Aquatic Center was renamed the Karraker Aquatic Center on Monday in honor of former mayor Kent Karraker.

The Normal Town Council hasn't yet decided how to address the loss of grocery tax revenue included in the new state budget, said Mayor Chris Koos.

An official renaming ceremony for Normal's Fairview Aquatic Center will take place in the future, with a date still to be announced.

As the new year kicks off, the Town of Normal is looking forward to more capital projects, more equipment purchases, and more economic activity. City Manager Pam Reece said last year was a very busy one with capital improvements and a lot of accomplishments.
