Bill Killian's daughter, who was born close to Halloween, requested her dad make a few graves with quippy epitaphs for their front yard in Gridley. Nearly two decades later, the display has about 110 homemade headstones.

A person was freed after being trapped in a Livingston County grain bin on Thursday afternoon. Normal and Gridley fire departments were part of a multiagency response in Flanagan.

Gridley fire and ambulance crews were called to the farm in rural Gridley around 12:10 p.m. for a victim who became trapped in the bin, said Gridley Fire Chief Casey Knobloch.
