Early voting begins Thursday for April 4 contests

Early voting begins Thursday for the April 4 election.

The April 4 consolidated municipal election is just under six weeks away, but early voting and mail-in balloting begins Thursday.

In-person early voting is available at the Government Center in downtown Bloomington. If you live in Bloomington, you can check the Bloomington Election Commission's website for days and hours. If you live in Normal or elsewhere in McLean County, you can check the McLean County clerk's website for days and hours.

There will be weekend hours for early voting starting March 25 and evening hours through 7 p.m. for early voting during the week of March 27.

Early voting runs through April 3. That's also the last day for McLean County voters who want to curbside vote to ask election authorities for that to happen.

Some other deadlines are nearing as well.

March 7 is the last day for U.S. citizens living outside the country to register to vote and the close of in-person voter registration.

March 27 is the last day for a U.S. citizen abroad to apply to vote by mail.

March 30 is the last day to mail vote-by-mail ballots, and the last day for election authorities to receive a vote by mail application by mail.
