WGLT gives Illinois State University students an opportunity to learn alongside professional journalists through internships and paid positions.
The WGLT Scholarship is awarded each year to qualifying student(s). Now in its fifth year, the WGLT scholarship is made possible by the Dr. Robert & Marilyn Sutherland Endowment and the WGLT Future Fund Endowment.
Congratulations to the 2023 WGLT Scholarship winners: Jack Podlesnik and Jayla Johnson.
- Jack Podlesnik, an Illinois State University senior in the School of Communication studying journalism. At WGLT, Jack is a newscaster for Morning Edition and student journalist.
- Jayla Johnson, an Illinois State University senior in the School of Communication studying journalism, with a minor in Women and Gender studies. Jayla is a student journalist in the WGLT newsroom contributing audio and print stories.
