Rivian said Monday that its third-quarter production numbers leave the electric vehicle maker on pace to meet its annual goal.
Rivian said in a news release it produced 16,304 vehicles from July to September. That's 16% more than in the second quarter and 121% more than the same quarter last year.
“It has been truly incredible to see record after record fall as we achieved our most successful day, week, month, and quarter of deliveries respectively. I am in awe of all the teams from the factory to the field who rose to exceed expectations,” said Marco Batra, Rivian vice president, commercial operations.
The company with a manufacturing plant in Normal delivered 15,506 vehicles into customer hands in the third quarter.
Batra also said Rivian has introduced more variety in the fleet, recently adding a dual motor to the R1 platform.
Rivian said its production target for the year remains 52,000 vehicles.
