Bloomington Police said they and Normal Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with a shooting overnight on Feb. 8.

A 17-year-old boy suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his leg in the 1000 block of West Market Street. The injuries were not life-threatening. Officers arrested the 15-year-old juvenile in Normal on preliminary charges of aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm.

"It remains concerning that some youth choose to use violence to resolve conflict instead of an alternative means," said BPD Chief Jamal Simington. "The Bloomington community has zero tolerance for gun violence."

The youth has been taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
