Multi-platinum country artist Sara Evans will headline the 2024 Fairbury Fair, with Nashville singer/songwriter KayLyn Pace joining for the fair’s Friday night concert on Aug. 16.
Missouri native Evans emerged from the pack in the 2000s with chart-topping singles Born to Fly, Suds in the Bucket and A Real Fine Place to Start. Since breaking with RCA in 2016, she’s been a vocal advocate for more women on country radio and launched her own label, Born to Fly Records.
A 13-song album called Copy That from 2020 features covers of Evans’ favorite songs — everything from Come On, Eileen to My Sharona. She’s set to release her 11th studio album this year.
Throughout her two-decade career, Evans has blurred the lines between classic, neo-traditional and contemporary country. As a next-gen version of that, Pace has crisscrossed the U.S. opening for artists ranging from Lee Brice to Pitbull.
Tickets for the Friday Night Concert, starting at $20, go on sale March 22. Additional activities and attractions at the 148th annual Fairbury Fair, running Aug. 14-18, will be announced online later.
