The State Supreme Court has appointed Raylene DeWitte Grischow to the Fourth District Appellate Court, which covers 41 counties in central and western Illinois including McLean, Livingston, Woodford, Tazewell, Logan, and DeWitt.

“Judge Grischow is an accomplished, hardworking, community-minded person who maintains the highest ethical standards. I am confident she will thrive at the appellate level,” said State Supreme Court Justice Lisa Holder White.

Grischow is currently a circuit court judge in Springfield. She's a former head of the Sangamon County Bar Association and previously worked at the law firm of Hinshaw and Culbertson.

“I am excited to embrace this new position and work with the esteemed justices of the Fourth District Appellate Court,” said Grischow.

Grischow is a member of the Illinois Judges Association, the Central Illinois Women's Bar Association and previously served as the vice chair of the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Professional Responsibility.

Grischow has a B.A. from ISU and a law degree from Washington University. She will replace John Turner of Atlanta, Illinois, who retires next month.
