A Bloomington man has been sentenced to 80 years in prison for a shooting death in January 2022.

McLean County Judge Jason Chambers handed down the sentence on Tuesday for 24-year-old Jaylin Bones.

Police arrested Bones in February 2023 for the fatal shooting of Timothy Manns, 29, in an apartment in the 600 block of West Jefferson Street in Bloomington.

A McLean County jury in June convicted Bones on several charges, including first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.

The sentence includes a 25-year enhancement for the discharge of a firearm, according to McLean County court records.
