The Illinois Supreme Court is being asked to review the appeals of two Twin City men who claim they were wrongfully convicted in unrelated McLean County murder cases from the 1990s.

Michael Bakana, 45, was convicted last year of a fatal shooting outside a Bloomington nightclub in January 2021. Mariah Petracca, 22, of Bloomington was shot and killed. Another woman, Bibi Cornejo of Bloomington, was wounded in the shooting.

A Bloomington man has been sentenced to 80 years in prison for a shooting death in 2022.
