Rivian Vice President of Manufacturing Tim Fallon is leaving the electric automaker.
Fallon is going to take over North America manufacturing operations at Stellantis, according to multiple media reports.
Rivian CEO R.J. Scaringe said in an email to staff that Fallon “decided to pursue new opportunities outside of Rivian.” Scaringe said Fallon was instrumental in ramping up Rivian's operations in Normal.
Fallon spent about two years and seven months at Rivian. Previously, he worked at Nissan for 16 years, according to his LinkedIn page.
His time at Rivian came during a period of rapid growth for its Normal plant that has now grown to about 8,000 employees as it ramps up production on its R1 pickup and SUV while adding a new midsize SUV, the R2.
Scaringe announced Rivian’s VP of Supply Chain and Logistics, Carlo Materazzo, will lead manufacturing in the interim.
“Our manufacturing operation has made tremendous progress during the past few years. Our continued progress is critical for us as we focus on executing on our path to profitability,” Scaringe said in the email.
