McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder identified the man who died as Matthew Moritz, 40, of Bloomington.

A 40-year-old Bloomington man is dead after his motorcycle collided with an SUV on Wednesday afternoon on the city's southeast side.

The crash happened around 3:12 p.m. near the intersection of East Oakland Avenue and Old Farm Road, Bloomington Police said. An off-duty Bloomington police officer and another passerby rendered aid to the injured motorcyclist until officers arrived on scene, police said.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the hospital.

McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder identified the man who died as Matthew Moritz. The autopsy indicates Moritz died of multiple injuries in the crash. He was the only occupant on the motorcycle.

Police continue to investigate, along with the McLean County Accident Reconstruction Team, and the McLean County coroner's office.
