OSF names Derrick Frazier president of St. Joseph Medical Center as Shim steps down

OSF St. Joseph Medical Center is set to add 25 beds to its 152 bed facility in Bloomington.

After being named president of OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington just over a year ago, Eunmee Shim will step down from her role on May 29.

OSF HealthCare announced the transition today.

Currently the president of OSF HealthCare Saint James–John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac, Frazier will serve roles in both Pontiac and Bloomington.

Stepping into the role is Derrick Frazier, adding to his current position as president of OSF HealthCare Saint James – John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac.

Frazier previously served as interim president of OSF St. Joseph before Shim stepped into the role.

Interim CEO for OSF's Eastern Region for OSF Jennifer Junis said, “Derrick is a highly respected leader who brings a strong track record of operational excellence and a deep commitment to our mission.”

Eunmee Shim will step away to pursue another opportunity, according to an OSF spokesperson.

Frazier’s added duties as president of the Bloomington hospital include strengthening OSF’s systemwide strategy and advancing cost-effective care in Bloomington-Normal.

Courtney Conroy is a student intern who hosts All Things Considered and Highway 309. She joined the station in 2024.
