Downdetector has recorded scattered internet outages across Bloomington-Normal.

There are reports of internet service outages in Bloomington-Normal on Wednesday.

Metronet reports disruptions. Downdetector has recorded potential problems with Xfinity. Verizon has outages as well.

Some Twin City businesses have resorted to cash-only transactions because they are unable to connect to credit card services. Other businesses report larger than usual attendance at work sites where service is stable because the outages are preventing work-from-home arrangements.

The collaborative tool Geoblackout also lists several scattered outages in McLean County.

The outage reports began a little before 7 am.

Metronet said its network team is investigating and reviewing the issue and determining next steps.

"An external partner is assisting, and progress is being monitored," said Metronet. "
