The head of Central Illinois Arena Management is expressing shock at the state police investigation into operations at the Coliseum in Bloomington.

John Butler said in a written statement that after reports last week about concession payments to the city and the Mayor's comments, Butler offered to meet with the city. Butler said he was rebuffed.

The investigation has been going on for some months, now.

Butler said he welcomes any inquiry and will cooperate fully. He said he is confident there has been no wrong doing and at most just differences in interpretation of the management agreement.

Butler criticized Mayor Tari Renner for last week's statements about coliseum receipts in that he had no opportunity to address city concerns.

"I feel like I have been ambushed,' said Butler.
