Schock To Be Indicted
Former Congressman Aaron Schock is being indicted.
That's according to the Peoria resident's attorney.
Justice department officials delayed issuing the indictment until after the election.
The 35 year old Schock resigned his safe seat in March of last year as investigators began looking at his campaign and office spending.
Schock lawyer George Terwilliger says the indictment is the culmination of an effort to find something, anything to take down Aaron Schock. In the statement from Terwilliger Schock is quoted he intends to expose the investigation for what it was and prove the allegations false.
Among the questioned expenditures, billing taxpayers for chartered flights that also served campaign purposes, billing for more mileage on a vehicle than the car had on it when it was sold, and numerous trips.
Schock was succeeded by GOP Representative Darin LaHood of Dunlap in a special election. LaHood this week won the seat for a full term.
