School Bus Driver From Mahomet Faces DUI Charges

Police are seeking DUI and other charges against a school bus driver who was reportedly driving a bus erratically through Decatur on Tuesday night.

Illinois State Police say a school bus driver from Mahomet who was driving erratically on Tuesday night faces drunk driving and other charges.
Police said the Mahomet-Seymour school bus was driving erratically through Decatur at about 8:40 p.m. and was later stopped along eastbound Interstate 72 in Piatt County.

Police arrested Marvin Bell, 69, on charges of driving under the influence of drugs and endangering the life of a child.

State Police said the bus was carrying about 33 students and coaches from Mahomet-Seymour when it was stopped. Police haven’t said which sports team was on the bus.
