A 42-year-old woman was killed Sunday in a two-vehicle crash near Arrowsmith.

McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder said a woman was killed and a man was hospitalized Sunday in a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a semitractor trailer near Arrowsmith.
Yoder said the crash happened at about 2 p.m. near 3300 East and 1300 North Road. Authorities have not released any details about how the crash occurred.

Yoder said a 42-year-old woman who was in the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead. Her name has not yet been released pending notification of family.

A male occupant of the vehicle was taken to an area hospital. Their condition is not known.

Crews from the Ellsworth Fire Department, Gibson Area EMS, Saybrook Area Fire Department, and Illinois State Police were already on scene when the coroner's office was called, according to Yoder.

Yoder said the crash remains under investigation by the coroner's Office and the McLean County sheriff's office.
