Sami Johnson
InternSami Johnson is a photo and video intern at WGLT. She joined the station in August 2025.
Sami is a mass media major with an emphasis in management, promotion, and sales. She's served as visual editor at The Vidette for the past year and am continuing in that role. Her passion for visual media led her to start SimplySamiPhotography, which she's been growing throughout college and plan to expand after graduation.
Sami also works as a social media intern at Jacqlour, a fashion boutique in Bloomington-Normal. Her goal is to build a career in photography, media production, and social media management, using my camera and creativity to share stories and connect with the community.
She is from a small town called Mt. Zion, near Decatur. Following graduation, she plans to expand SimplySamiPhotography, pursue opportunities in social media management, and travel.

New campus safety improvements at Illinois State University have prompted the school as well as the town of Normal to install temporary road blocks around campus, one place in particular being the crosswalk right outside of the dorm building Hewitt-Manchester. -
Delightfully mild weather helped to bring out big crowds for this year’s Sweet Corn Circus in Uptown Normal – enough to gobble up thousands of ears of corn.
