Sami Johnson
Photographer and videographerSami Johnson is a photographer and videographer at WGLT. She joined the station in August 2025 as an intern from Illinois State University. She graduated in December 2025 and joined the staff as a part-time employee.
Sami was a mass media major with an emphasis in management, promotion, and sales. She served as visual editor at The Vidette. Her passion for visual media led her to start SimplySamiPhotography, which she's been growing throughout college and plan to expand after graduation.
Sami also works as a social media intern at Jacqlour, a fashion boutique in Bloomington-Normal. Her goal is to build a career in photography, media production, and social media management, using my camera and creativity to share stories and connect with the community.
She is from a small town called Mt. Zion, near Decatur.
