Bellflower Woman Dies In House Fire

Fire crews from Bellflower, Saybrook and Farmer City responded to a fatal house fire Sunday morning.

A Bellflower woman died in a house fire early Sunday morning, according to McLean County Sheriff Jon Sandage.
Sandage said in a news release a McLean County Sheriff’s Deputy saw a house fully engulfed by fire in the 400 block of First Street in Bellflower in southeastern McLean County at about 5:20 a.m.

Fire crews from Bellflower, Saybrook and Farmer City responded to the blaze. Sandage said crews found a woman dead inside the home after they had extinguished the fire. Her name has not yet been released.

The cause of the fire is investigation by the McLean County Sheriff’s Office, the McLean County Coroner’s Office and the MABAS Division 41 Fire Investigation Team.

This incident happened four days after a woman in Normal died in a house fire. Investigators have not yet determined a cause.
