One of the many painful parts of the state budget deadlock has been the uncertainty over state support for low income people attending college, so called MAP funding. Universities have floated that commitment so far. It's unclear whether that continue. Some colleges and universities have said it cannot. In today's second part of GLT's interview with State Senator Bill Brady Charlie Schlenker asked Brady whether he is committed to restoring MAP funding or whether it must wait upon the rest of the budget for resolution.
Governor Rauner is soon to address Illinois about these and other issues. Hear Rauner's State of the State address Wednesday at noon on GLT.
