On Saturday, speaking to priests-in-training and nuns, Pope Francis said a car is necessary to do a lot of work, but it shouldn't be a fancy one. He said, "Just think about how many children are dying of hunger in the world." He added that seeing priests and nuns in the latest-model cars hurts him.

9 teenagers were shot at a Texas prom after-party
About 250 people were present at the time of the shooting, the sheriff's office said. County officials said the injuries are expected to not be life-threatening.
Dan Brady decides not to run for office in 2024
Former state Rep. Dan Brady had been looking at either the 17th Congressional District race, or the 88th Illinois House District seat in 2024. The Bloomington-Normal Republican said Friday he won't run for either of those offices.
Political Standoff Fuels Ethnic Violence in Kenya
Hundreds of people have died in post-election ethnic violence in Kenya. A hospital in Eldoret has received more than 70 bodies since election results were announced, including 17 burned alive in a church. Raila Odinga, who narrowly lost the presidential election, has called for protests Thursday.
