Those around the nation glued to radios and TV screens for the last several weeks during the murder trial of Derek Chauvin are breathing a sigh of relief that it is over and that some of the lingering tensions over police and minorities in the nation have subsided for a little while. Now comes the effort to find or assign a meaning to it that is more than a single case.

ISU Criminal Justice Sciences Professor Miltonette Craig kept track of the case for professional and personal reasons. She is African American. Craig says the case was extremely important.
