Humane Society of Central Illinois

After the severe damage to Springfield's Animal Protective League and other shelters in Southern Illinois, the Humane Society of Central Illinois, Clover's Cat Club and Pet Central Helps in Normal are stepping up. Together, they are taking care of dozens of cats and dogs temporarily.

The Humane Society in Normal received donations of fans and water when its air conditioner broke Thursday. The shelter is still evaluating whether dogs and cats will be relocated overnight.

At the first-of-its-kind fundraiser game for the Humane Society of Central Illinois, adoptable dogs and more than 100 pet dogs came out to see the Bloomington Bison hockey team.
