Museum executive director Beth Whisman announced the donation from the McLean County Farm Bureau at the annual McLean County Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Awareness breakfast on Wednesday.

Mike Swartz said the 36 years he spent on the "front end" of agriculture at the McLean County Farm Bureau helped prepare him for his new role on the "far back end" of agriculture at the Midwest Food Bank.

The county board rejected the proposal as inappropriate for the rules of the area. Separately, the board also approved a pay rise for public health nurses and zoning for Rivian's expansion plan.
