State Farm To Hire Another 1,000 Employees

Bloomington-based State Farm says it is increasing the number of planned hires in Bloomington-Normal and around the country.

Spokesperson Heather Paul says the new number is 2,500 jobs, up from 1,500 announced in May.

"We're looking to update our claims opportunities as well as our customer service opportunities," said Paul.

Paul said more than 700 positions from that 2,500 total will be located in Bloomington-Normal. The jobs are hybrid, partly working from home and partly in the office.

"We're continuing to see wonderful and great numbers for both new business as well as retained business this past year," said Paul.

State Farm is trying to fill the jobs through a series of virtual career fairs. The next one is Tuesday.

The spring announcement focused on claims representatives. The new hires will be customer service representatives, said Paul.
