The McLean County Coroner's office has identified the 17-year-old from Gibson City who died in a crash on Wednesday.

A 17-year-old from Gibson City died in a crash with a semi-trailer east of Bloomington on Wednesday night, according to Illinois State Police.

ISP said in a release the crash happened at the intersection of Illinois Route 9 and the LeRoy-Lexington blacktop (County Road 2600 East) in Blue Mound Township about eight miles east of Bloomington at about 6:22 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the semi-trailer, which was driven by a 28-year-old Texas man, failed to stop at a stop sign while traveling north on LeRoy-Lexington road and hit a westbound car that was driven by Colin Bane.

Bane was pronounced dead at the scene at about 7:30 p.m. according to a news release from McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder. Yoder said Bane died of multiple injuries and was the only person in the vehicle.

Police said the semi driver, Day-Quan Love of Killeen, Texas, was ticketed for failure to obey a stop sign.

Police have not provided any additional information about the crash.
