The McLean County Coroner’s Office and Illinois State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash near Towanda that happened Thursday night.
Coroner Kathy Yoder said the crash happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 55 at mile marker 173 around 11:45 p.m.
Jacey Buresh, 17, of North Bend, Nebraska, died of multiple injuries in the crash.
Yoder said Buresh was driving a car that collided with an SUV. Buresh was thrown from the vehicle.
Toxicology testing is pending.
