Judges in the 11th Judicial Circuit in central Illinois have chosen Livingston County State's Attorney Randy Yedinak to fill a vacant associate judge's position.
Yedinak will replace retiring Judge Thomas Funk in March.
Yedinak was elected state's attorney in Livingston County in 2016 and previously was the interim top prosecutor in Ford County for two years. He worked as a prosecutor in Dekalb and Livingston counties before that. Yedinak's 2008 law degree is from Northern Illinois University.
Yedinak cited leadership roles in the Pontiac United Methodist Church and his work in several service organizations in Livingston County. He grew up in Stark County.
The 11th circuit includes Ford, Livingston, Logan, McLean, and Woodford counties.
