Woman dies after Sunday morning crash in Bloomington

Bloomington Police and McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder issued a joint news release on Monday indicating the victim of the crash was Kudeidrea Stewart, 39, of Bloomington.

A 39-year-old woman has died after a crash at a Bloomington intersection involving two SUVs early Sunday morning.

Bloomington Police said in a news release that officers were dispatched to the intersection of Washington and East streets around 7:19 a.m.

After arriving at the scene, officers helped medical staffers with the occupants of the vehicles; all but one were transferred to a local hospital with injuries.

According to the release, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene by the McLean County coroner's office.

Bloomington Police and McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder issued a joint news release on Monday indicating the victim of the crash was Kudeidrea Stewart of Bloomington. According to the release, Stewart was a passenger in one of the SUVs and she died of head injuries, based on preliminary autopsy findings.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by both BPD and the coroner's office.

No additional information was provided.
