Joshua Livingston of Danvers faces murder charges in connection with the death of Melissa Ostrom of Bloomington.

A Danvers man has been indicted on charges of first-degree murder in connection with the death of a Bloomington woman who was reported missing last week.

Bloomington Police said in a news release that 39-year-old Joshua Livingston has been charged in connection with Melissa Ostrom's death, which has been determined to be a homicide.

Ostrom, also 39, was found dead April 19 after what authorities described as an extensive search by Bloomington Police, the McLean County Sheriff’s Office, and the McLean County Emergency Management Agency.

In a release Wednesday, Bloomington Police said autopsy results from McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder showed Ostrom died primarily from strangulation.

At the time of indictment, Livingston was being held at the McLean County jail for charges related to the possession of stolen vehicles. He now faces additional charges of three counts of first-degree murder, concealment of a homicidal death and criminal damage to state-supported property.

Bond information was not immediately available Wednesday.
