Abby Scott said she will run for the Bloomington Council seat being vacated by Tom Crumpler.

A second candidate has announced a run for the Bloomington City Council in Ward 9.

Model architect Abby Scott has made it Facebook official she will run for the office in the northeast side ward.

Scott said she wants to use her "15 years of experience in turning data into decisions that help people live their best lives."

"I want to take those skills and approach Bloomington’s development analytically and with compassion and respect," said Scott.

The other announced candidate in the race is State Farm worker Roger Bedeker. Current Ward 9 council member Tom Crumpler said in July he would not run again because he wants to travel more in retirement.

The nonpartisan municipal election takes place April 1, 2025.
