The man who died in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning at the intersection of College Avenue and Veterans Parkway has been identified as 69-year-old Randal A. Siebert from Hudson, according to the McLean County Coroner Kathleen Yoder.

"Preliminary autopsy results indicate that Mr. Siebert died from a medical event, reportedly sustained while driving as the sole occupant of a vehicle that left the roadway and crashed," Yoder said.

Authorities say Siebert drove off the road around 8:45 a.m. and crashed. Police said there was no one else in the vehicle.

The coroner is running a toxicology report and an investigation between the coroner's office, Normal police and the McLean County Accident Reconstruction Team [MCART] is ongoing.

Traffic remained heavy throughout Tuesday near the crash site, with police advising people to avoid the area. It's since been cleared.
