The Immanuel Bible Foundation has given its Van Leer Legacy Award to Normal City Manager Pam Reece. Since 2013, the foundation has given the annual award to an outstanding member of the Bloomington-Normal Community.
“Reece’s professional values are focused on customer service, fiscal responsibility, sustainable initiatives, and visionary leadership,” said the foundation.
The foundation also cited Reece’s community service with such groups as the Boys and Girls Club, United Way of McLean County and McLean County Chamber of Commerce.
“Because of her role in Town administration, she also has been actively involved in various community development initiatives and strategies to make Normal an exceptional place in which to live, work, and play,” said the foundation.
The foundation started the award to ‘recognize individuals whose leadership and dedication inspire people to reach their God given potential.’
The foundation said its mission is to enrich the community through the arts, faith, and preservation of the historic Broadview Mansion estate in Normal. The award is named for the Van Leer family that built the mansion.
