Bloomington man killed in early morning crash last weekend

Yellow police tape that says "Police Line Do Not Cross." The text "WGLT Police and Fire" is laid on top of that photo.

A Bloomington man has died several days after a single vehicle crash last Saturday morning.

Bloomington police and fire responded to the 1000 block of Hinshaw Avenue in Bloomington at approximately 5:15 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20. Officials say a vehicle traveling northbound on Hinshaw left the roadway and hit a utility pole.

The front seat passenger, Travis Floyd, 22, was transported to Carle BroMenn Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and later died at 9:24 a.m. on Sept. 24.

Other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash are reported to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Officials are unsure at this point what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
