The McLean County Coroner identified the motorcyclist who died at Caden Lovins, 20, of Bloomington.

A 20-year-old man is dead after a motorcycle crash Saturday night on Interstate 55 in Normal, authorities said.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. as a group of motorcycles headed north on I-55 near mile marker 166, which is between the Main Street and Veterans Parkway exits, Illinois State Police said. A motorcycle near the front of the group sustained mechanical failure, went down and was hit by a second bike, police said.

In a news release on Monday, McLean County Coroner Kathleen Yoder said Caden Lovins, 20, of Bloomington was pronounced dead at 7:57 p.m. The coroner said Lovins died of multiple injuries.

Toxicology tests are pending.

Two other riders were injured and taken to the hospital.

This incident remains under investigation by the McLean County Coroner’s Office and State Police.
