Mayor Koos Hopes For Infrastructure Bill In Pritzker Administration

Flickr
The State has been without a substantial capital bill for years.

The mayor of Normal said he hopes Gov.-elect J.B. Pritzker broadens his transition team looking at state infrastructure needs.

Chris Koos said not all stakeholders are at the table yet.

"A number of utility CEOs are being highly considered for a transition team. Not knowing these individuals and how they would react, I would hope that it would be more broad based, that they would bring some community members in, elected officials at the local level," Koos said on GLT's Sound Ideas.

Koos said he hopes a broad-based capital bill will pass the General Assembly.

"You know people talk about job growth and things like that. Infrastructure is a piece of that. If you have solid infrastructure in a community, businesses will be attracted to the state," said Koos.

He said infrastructure is a need for the state and an economic stimulant.
