NPD: Man Shot At North Normal Apartment Dies

A man who was shot earlier this month at a north Normal apartment complexhas died.

According to a Monday news release from the Normal Police Department, Roy Ward Jr., 20, of Peoria, died at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal. Authorities said Ward died of multiple gunshot wounds. Toxicology results are pending.

Police said the shooting occurred outside the College Station Apartments, 9 Traders Circle, shortly after midnight on Sept. 19. Police said there was a large gathering inside the building at the time of the shooting.

Illinois State University Police said in a campus advisory the victim was not an ISU student. No arrests have been made. The case remains under investigation by NPD and the McLean County Coroner’s Office.
