State Police said in a release Monday that 131 citations and 147 warnings were issued for traffic violations along Rivian Motorway on Nov. 16.

After a two-vehicle crash along Rivian Motorway left a Georgia man dead, law enforcement agencies across McLean County joined Illinois State Police in a traffic enforcement detail last Thursday.

State Police said in a release Monday that 131 citations and 147 warnings were issued for traffic violations along Rivian Motorway on Nov. 16. Nine of the citations or warnings issued were due to violations of Scott's Law, which mandates that vehicles approaching police or other emergency vehicles along the roadway must switch lanes. One crash report was taken.

The traffic enforcement detail came after an SUV and car collied in the right lane on Rivian Motorwayaround 6:44 a.m. on Nov. 10. Donald Adeyi, a 36-year-old man from Georgia, died from multiple injuries after being ejected out of his vehicle in the crash.

“Everyone is affected when lives are lost in traffic crashes," ISP Troop 5 Commander Tim Sweeney said in a statement. “ISP is thankful for the partnering agencies who worked this detail with us."

The traffic enforcement detail on Nov. 16 included the McLean County Sheriff's Office, both the Bloomington and Normal police departments, as well as State Police.
