For two decades, Jamie Snow has fought his McLean County murder conviction, but his battle with an infectious disease that has killed 12 of his fellow inmates may pose the biggest threat to his life.

Snow is serving a life sentence at Stateville Correctional Center in the death of Bill Little, a clerk who was fatally shot behind the counter of a Bloomington gas station on Easter Sunday 1991. The Exoneration Project is representing Snow in his effort.

State police in Ullin, Ill., said Wednesday there has been an arrest in the killing of a teenager from Normal.

Haley Decker, 18, went missing March 4. Her body was found March 26 in the Cypress Creek National Wildlife Refuge in rural Pulaski County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said James A. Merritt, 32, of Morehouse, Mo., was arrested April 16 and initially charged with trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation. Illinois State Police and the FBI searched Merritt’s residence that day.

A former TV hunting show host from East Peoria has admitted poaching and smuggling a deer. Federal prosecutors said forty-one-year-old Christopher Brackett used to host "Fear No Evil" on the Outdoor Channel. Prosecutors in the January death of an 8-year-old girl from Normal point to a consistent pattern of abuse under the eye of Illinois’ Department of Children and Family Services.

Cynthia Marie Baker, also known as Cynthia Clay, was arrested on a warrant earlier this week for charges of murder, aggravated domestic battery, and domestic battery of a child in connection with the girl’s death.

Gunfire claimed the life of one man in Bloomington on Tuesday night. Two others are in critical condition at area hospitals.

Bloomington Police say Nathanial Caldwell, 26, was found in the 1200 block of Orchard Drive with a gunshot wound after they were called around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday for a report of shots fired. He is currently listed in critical condition at an area hospital.
