Three men were killed and a toddler was critically injured Monday in a shooting at an apartment building on Riley Drive in Bloomington. There have now been seven fatal shootings in Bloomington-Normal in less than two months.

Friends and neighbors of two slain young people in Bloomington said they just do not understand how it came to this.

Bloomington police said they found a man and a woman dead from gunshot wounds overnight Sunday.

After reports of multiple gunshots about 1:09 a.m., officers went to the area of 1221 Orchard Street and found the victims. Two other people had also been shot. Officers said they had non-life threatening injuries and were taken to area hospitals.

Bloomington Police have arrested a 31-year-old nurse for allegedly ripping painkiller patches off the arms of nursing home patients and stealing them.

Bloomington Police have arrested a man for a hit-and-run that has critically injured a bicyclist.

A 16-year-old boy remains in critical condition and the family is requesting privacy, police said.

A federal jury has convicted a McLean man of an armed robbery in Normal.

Prosecutors say 34-year-old Scott Books had cashed bad checks at the Land of Lincoln Credit Union in the months before the July 2016 robbery.

Police do not typically recommend this, but authorities say an employee at Schlotzsky's Deli in Bloomington wrestled an armed robbery suspect.

McLean County Sheriff Jon Sandage is running for re-election. Sandage cited achievements in increasing drug enforcement efforts as a reason he hopes people will vote for him again.

"We have dedicated another detective to our detective division and started running narcotics cases out of our detective division. We have also added a K-9 unit to the patrol division and we are working a lot more drug interdiction details," said Sandage.

State Police have arrested a man from Fort Wayne, Indiana in connection with a bank robbery in Bloomington.

City police said a man took money from a PNC Bank on West Market Street about 11:23 a.m. Wednesday.

Congressman Rodney Davis was not hurt during the shooting of five people at a Congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia. Davis plays catcher on the team.

The man accused of stabbing a Peoria woman to death in a Bloomington motel last month now faces new charges.

Police say 32-year old Kyle Brestan was arrested again at the McLean County Jail on seven counts of the manufacture and possession of child pornography.

A six year old girl from Lincoln has died after being struck by a car in Bloomington.

Police say the collision happened on South Bunn Street Saturday afternoon. The girl had left her father's parked vehicle and tried to cross the street.

Police have arrested a 22-year-old man from Normal for shooting a man to death in Normal on Wednesday.

Bloomington police have made an arrest in the murder case of a Peoria woman in a motel on Brock Drive.

Officers had previously labeled the death of 27-year old Shannon Hastings suspicious.

A 33-year old Brimfield man shot himself Tuesday afternoon on I-74 near Carlock. McLean County Coroner Kathleen Davis said Paul S. Smith died of a penetrating contact gunshot wound of the head.

The incident remains under investigation by the McLean County Coroner's office and State Police.

Bloomington Police are investigating a suspicious death of a woman at a motel.

According to a news release, Bloomington Police and Bloomington Fire Rescue responded to a motel room in the 400 block of Brock Drive for an unresponsive person Sunday afternoon at about 12:26.
