Person dies in auto-train collision east of Arrowsmith

A person was killed Thursday afternoon near Arrowsmith in eastern McLean County after a train collided with a passenger vehicle.

McLean County sheriff's deputies were called to the crash on a county road east of Arrowsmith about 1:43 p.m. The person was pronounced dead on arrival at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

The sheriff, coroner, and Norfolk Southern Railway are investigating. The rail crossing is on 3500 East Road about a half a mile north of 1100 North Road.
