With Spring quickly approaching, so does storm season for Illinois. The McLean County Emergency Management Agency works across the county in and out of the season to prepare and educate residents on severe weather.

The National Weather Service confirmed three tornadoes in Central Illinois during a severe weather outbreak Sunday. There was damage in Pontiac and near Pekin and Decatur.

While two of the tornadoes were southeast of Bloomington-Normal, the bulk of the twisters were in west-central Illinois. The strongest was an EF-2 reported northeast of Jacksonville in Morgan County.

The eastern McLean County communities of Colfax, Lexington, and Anchor were all hit pretty hard according to McLean County Emergency Management Agency Director Cathy Beck. No injuries were reported.
